Frequently
Asked Questions
Q. What is Wedding Photojournalism?
Wedding Photojournalism is a way of capturing all of the important
moments of your wedding with very little intrusion. Wedding photojournalists
tell the story of your wedding as you see it, capturing the true
emotions of the day rather than trying to pose the moment. You
will see your wedding day unfold in the images, capturing even
the smallest details that you spent so much time planning. Wedding
photojournalism allows you to spend your wedding day with family
and friends instead of your photographer.
Q. Do you photograph formals portraits also?
Yes. Unless otherwise instructed, we will photograph all of the
standard group portraits; wedding party, families, and bride and
groom along with any special requests that you might have.
Q. What type of equipment do you use?
A. In early 2000 we started the transition to digital photography.
We are currently 100% digital with three Canon professional digital
cameras along with Canon's professional series L lenses and flashes.
We are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality
photographs and albums available.
Q. Will you be the one photographing our wedding?
A. Yes. We are the primary photographers. In most cases, we
will both be photographing your wedding. If we have two weddings
booked, we will have an assistant at the wedding who also takes
photographs to supplement the photos that we take.
Q. Is black and white photography included along with
the color photos?
A. Yes. One of the benefits of digital photography is that any
image we take can be printed in color or black and white without
a loss in quality like you would get from printing a black and
white image from a color negative.
Q. Do we get to keep the proofs and negatives?
A. One of the benefits of shooting digitally is that we can
take a large number of images at our weddings at little cost compared
to film. Because of the large number of images taken, traditional
proofs are not included. Instead, your images are presented on
a easy to use program on a CD-ROM for your album and reprint selections.
Your images will also be available on your own Internet web site
so friends and family around the world will be able to view and
order their favorite images. You will also receive CDs with high
resolution digital files with most coverage options.
Q. What do you require to reserve a date?
A. A retainer in the amount of one third of your coverage option
is required to reserve the date with Chaney Photography along with
a signed contract. Additional payments of one-third are due 4 months
and 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. The studio is not bound
to a date until the required retainer is paid and contract is signed.
